Lehigh has been recognized by Miller-Keystone Blood Center and received its 2004 Gold Award for blood donation contributions and outstanding community service. Blood Drive coordinator, Lisa Trenge (HTC) said of the award, "We couldn't have received this award if not for the dedication of our donors." In addition to the Gold Award, Lehigh was also awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for sponsoring five drives last year. The award and certificate will be placed in the Allentown corporate offices (4th floor board room) with the previous awards received from Miller.
Lehigh's objective each year isn't to receive an award, but to encourage more people to make a difference in the lives of our area hospital patients. The company strives to accomplish this every 10 weeks and because of this, dedicated donors contributed 103 pints of blood in 2004. This is in addition to the 483 pints contributed since Lehigh's first drive in March 2000. The next blood drive to be held at Lehigh's Allentown corporate offices will be Thursday, May 26th. Help Lehigh make its goal of 30 registered donors. More importantly, just for an hour you can lend a hand to a patient who is counting on you to get their health back on track. You can make a difference. Everyone is invited to join Lehigh in its blood drive efforts. Lehigh employees and retirees, friends, family, neighbors, business partners and more are encouraged to join us. The more the merrier!
