| Competitors prepare for mental mathmatics exercise. |
More than 230 students and their coaches from 37 middle schools in a
four-county area flocked to Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA on a
Saturday in February 2006 to spend the morning challenging
themselves and each other in math skills. The occasion was the 22nd
Annual MATHCOUNTS, sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Chapter, PA
Society of Professional Engineers.
Financial contributions from sponsors, including Lehigh Cement, provided organizational resources, including postage and supplies, T- shirts for each official competitor, the ability to rent the facilities from Lehigh University, and awards for top teams, their coaches, and top individual competitors.
